Alltrack vs. Outback Driving Performance

Under the hood, the new Golf Alltrack comes equipped with a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 170-horsepower, while the Outback comes with a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 175-horsepower. Although the Outback offers five more horsepower than the Golf Alltrack, the Alltrack has the upper hand on performance and engaging driving capabilities by offering 199 pounds/foot of torque, while the Outback only offers 174 pounds/foot of torque, which translates into better acceleration and speed. Both vehicles offer standard all-wheel drive systems, although the Golf Alltrack offers additional features like Hill Descent Control and Electronic Differential Lock.

Alltrack vs. Outback Interior Features

Both vehicles offer spacious interiors that seat five comfortable as well as added cargo space behind the rear rows of seats, with a nod going to the Outback for offering a slightly more spacious cabin. The real difference, however, comes with the upscale and luxurious styling offered in the Golf Alltrack that you can only find in a European vehicle. The Alltrack offers an ergonomic and conveniently designed interior that allows you to easily have access to the advanced VW Car-Net infotainment system. The Alltrack offers a more feature heavy base model, with power front driver and passenger seats and paddle shifters for a more athletic driving experience. The Golf Alltrack also offers a number of safety and convenience features that you won't find in the Outback, like Park Distance Control and Park Steering assistant.
